The Code was then introduced in April 2006.
Veda supported the implementation of the Code and believed it recognised the value of high quality credit reporting to consumers, to lenders and to the economy as a whole while enhancing consumer privacy protection.
The Code is being reviewed in stages by the Privacy Commissioner. Veda has been involved in the review. Amendment 4 has been made final and the first implementation date for that Amendment is 1 October 2011. Amendment 5 which makes significant changes to the Code will be made final in October 2011 and has an expected implementation date of 1 April 2012.
