Discover your credit history

Everyday, thousands of businesses make decisions based on an individual's credit history. Do you know what is contained in your credit file, who has obtained copies of your credit file, and whether your personal information is accurate and up to date?

My Credit File Express - your file will be with you before you know it!

If you are unaware of what information is contained on your credit file then you need to act swiftly!  Choose our My Credit File Express service and we will dispatch a copy of your credit file to you within one working day.  The process is simple:

  • Fill out the application form
  • Read and understand the important information detailed in step 5
  • Attach a copy of suitable identification
  • Include payment details
  • Sign the form and fax back or post to us

Your credit file contains information about you and your credit history, including:

  • Full name
  • Last reported and previous addresses
  • Date of birth 
  • Company directorships (if any)
  • Who has made credit enquiries and when
  • Records of payment defaults (overdue accounts) - if any
  • District and High Court judgments (if any)
  • Insolvency Information (if any)
  • Records of any ID you have reported lost or stolen
  • Collections data (if any)
  • Collection Agency defaults (if any).

My Credit File will assist you in managing your personal information and also help you to better assess your own credit-worthiness.  Your credit file is an asset to you, providing valuable personal information from a trusted third party source, which can be used to support your future credit applications.

As the custodians of New Zealanders' personal credit information, Veda is committed to protecting your information.

 

My Credit File

If you have a little more time to spare then choose our My Credit File service and a copy of your credit file will be dispatched to you via post within ten working days free of charge.

Please note that you may only request a copy of your own credit history. For security purposes, prior to receiving a credit file you will be asked to verify your identity. You can obtain more detailed information regarding the access and use of personal information on our privacy page.

Lost or Stolen Identification

To help protect against identity theft and any subsequent fraud, you can request that personal identification, that has been lost or stolen, be recorded on your credit file.

Report your lost or stolen identification to the police. Typical identification will include credit cards, passport or drivers licence.

Send Veda a copy of the police report via email or post (details provided below) and we will record that your identification has been lost or stolen to your credit file.
